Our Road Trip Adventure!

For the last 2 weeks in May we went on a whirl-wind trip all up and down the west.
We stopped in Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri

First stop, Micah's in Kansas

As we headed into Colorado, this is the storm we driving into, yikes!

Hanging out with our nephews was so fun! Here's Caedmon showing his wrestling face!

And Jason's wrestling face!

It was so great to meet our first niece, Jayden! She was excited to meet her uncle Caleb!

Caleb & Jason at a park called "Red Rocks" in Denver looking for lizards

Cool, they found one!

Caedmon says "cheese pizza" (he really likes pizza)

Our next stop was the Grand Tetons in Wyoming! Here's Caleb looking for bears

Getting reading to hike up to those mountains!

This is a marmet. A beaver/gopher like little guy that we were able to sneak up on to snap a picture.

We hiked up to this lake at the base of the mountains, and yes it is frozen in May! It was beautiful!

Lesson learned: Hiking on snow is a lot harder than it sounds! There was times on this trail that the snow was thigh-high! It was a challenge, but worth it!

Pausing for a pic! We're a cute couple, huh?

Then it was on to Yellowstone!

Old faithful! It was really neat!

This is one of the natural hot springs in Yellowstone, it looked like a nice bubbling hot tub on a chilly day, but it's hot enough to boil you, so I had to resist jumping in!

We even got to see a moose! This is a cow moose! Awesome!

Next, it was on to Minnesota to see Caleb's mom. Here Caleb is learning to drive a tractor!

This is Cindy's new dog Sadie! She's a cute little thing!

And we had a delicious fish fry!

Finally it was on to Missouri to see Judd, Anna, and little Nichole. Here we are at the zoo!

Very sweet!

It was truly an awesome trip! We got to see a lot of family, a lot of nature, and we had a blast! Can't wait for the next one!

We have chickens!

We got 10 chickens last week! We're so excited! They are Rhode Island Reds, which they say are best for laying eggs and eating. We sure are looking forward to fresh eggs!
Feeding time

We're trying to get the dogs used to hanging out with the chicks, so they don't attack each other later. Sugar seems to like them, Gus is confused.

Cheep, Cheep, Cheep!

Getting caught up....

Been a while since the last post... so here's the catch up one. Home renovations continue with the kitchen cabinets and the floors. We have hardwood floors under all our carpet, so we're ripping up the carpet room by room! April took a trip out to Maryland in March to visit the fam, and for April's Birthday we went out to Wichita mountains to see wild buffalo!
It's been a great couple of months! :-) Happy Birthday, April! Our first trip to Wichita Mountains!
Yes, we were very close to these wild buffalo! It was neat!
Also, very close to the wild prairie dogs! So cute!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY CHRISTOPHER!
It was so fun to see him on his birthday! He's such a happy boy!

Hanging out with Grami
Enjoying his Birthday feast of pizza and chicken nuggets!

Christopher's first ride down a tube slide!

Home Renovations continue......
Starting to pull up a carpet to reveal the wood!
Caleb ripping down the old cabinets, preparing to hang new ones

Taking advantage of warm weather, doing yard work

Just had to post this! Our neighbors have turkeys that run wild, and they come up to our yard every day to harass Sugar! It's hilarious! Sugar barks at them and they yell back. This goes on for about an hour before the turkey's get tired and wonder home. Sugar doesn't like the turkey's, but Gus couldn't care less. Really funny!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Another year come and gone..... feels like we moved to Oklahoma this summer, we blinked and it was holiday time. What a great year! We bought our first home, and our main focus since then has been fixing it up. Little projects here and there have really helped to make it look and feel much better! We've never loved being home bodies more than we do now. Home is our favorite! Our first big project will be this winter, we're getting all the windows replaced, should be awesome. We hope to get some animals in the Spring, so it will be like a real farm!
We of course, were sent to Oklahoma per the Air Force because Caleb re-trained into a new field. He went from being a linguist to now flying air crew on the AWAX planes. He was in training for the first few months we were here, but just started flying a few weeks ago and loves it!
April got a job in November, back in the property management biz! It's with a local company that manages a couple hundred houses in the area. It's been going really well, and she really enjoys it!
Sugar & Gus are really becoming buddies. It's so cute how they like to be together all the time. Gus is getting to that very scary puppy age though. He's now taller than Sugar, is about 45 lbs, and his latest trick is getting his front paws on the kitchen counter to check things out! Yikes! And of course he thinks the trash is a cool toy bin as well. Needless to say, we're keeping a close eye on him these days.
But really, that's been us this year. We're just excited to see what's in store for 2010, we sure hope that the Lord's plans include us starting our family. :-) I hope everyone is doing well, and that you all have a Great New year!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
